  Tris buffer is not only widely used as a solvent for nucleic acid and protein, but also for many important uses. Tris is used for the growth of protein crystals under different pH conditions. The low ionic strength of the Tris buffer can be used for the formation of the intermediate fibers of the C. elegans nuclear fibrin protein (lamin). Tris is also one of the main components of the protein electrophoresis buffer. In addition, Tris is also prepared for the intermediates of surfactants, vulcanization accelerators and some drugs. Tris is also used as a titrating standard.
